
PNL President Nicolae Chuke said on Tuesday that the National Liberal Party will not support Nikusor Dan’s candidacy for the capital city hall if he decides to enter the election race as an independent candidate.
“If he remains independent, the PNL will not support this candidacy,” the liberal leader said, according to Agerpres.
He referred to recent discussions.
“I had discussions with the mayor Nikuzor Dan, and I clarified this situation, when his lordship wants to run for the mayor’s office of the capital, but without the support of the National Liberal Party,” Chuke said.
Answering a question about the names running in the mayoral elections, the president of the PNL said: “There is no doubt that at the moment we have nominated an interim president in the person of Mr. Sebastián Burduja, and I think it is very important, because the president of the branch, that He also assumes a candidacy for the mayor’s office.”
