The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, on Tuesday evening informed his compatriots that the country’s defense tactics had been revised and he set clear tasks for those responsible, including regarding the domestic production of long-range weapons, given that the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer and since the fall did not produce the expected results, and in the east country, Russian attacks seem to have intensified as winter approaches.

In a video address that he broadcasts every evening, Zelenskyi said that during the day there was a “special, long and detailed meeting” of the National Security Council, and the first topic discussed was the need to strengthen and consolidate Ukraine’s defense lines. “There should be full appropriate activity in the communities. Everything is absolutely detailed – our country definitely has enough mines and concrete. We need more speed and efficiency, and everyone responsible for this has clear tasks,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, News.ro reports.

According to him, there is also an important analysis of the recent attacks on Ukraine, in which Moscow used missiles, but mostly drones. “We analyzed our air defense tactics. There is an obvious need to develop and strengthen our mobile fire groups, as well as all the most effective air defense systems,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.

According to him, the operation of the Patriot and NASAMS systems, provided by Western partners, was also analyzed and it was concluded that they are very effective, and the commander of the Air Force and other relevant commanders, as well as the Ministry of Defense, “have the necessary instructions.”

On the other hand, these Western systems are of short and medium range, and Zelensky emphasized the need for long-range systems. Since the US and other Western partners are reluctant to supply such weapons, Zelenskyi said that Ukraine will create them itself. “Today I also had a separate meeting with the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and I can say that she was optimistic. We are preparing, among other things, good long-range equipment so that the occupiers will feel Ukrainian strength,” the Kyiv leader said.

Regarding the situation at the front, the president noted that at the meeting of the Security Council, “special attention” was paid to the region of Donetsk – Avdiyivka, Maryinka, and the Bakhmut region, where the fiercest and fiercest battles are taking place. . “In the Kupyan direction, I would like to emphasize the preservation of our positions,” Zelenskyi said. “We also discussed our actions in the southern regions,” he added.

At the end of his message on Tuesday evening, Zelenskyi also announced that he had published the law on the state budget for the next year.

“It is obvious that his main priority is protection against Russian aggression. But, at the same time, we take into account the social needs of our people and fully fulfill the social obligations of our state. In a time of full-scale war, it is extremely important that every citizen who needs government support receives it. Likewise, everyone who is currently creating jobs, who keeps their business and even develops it, everyone who is in Ukraine and with Ukraine, who works honestly and supports others, supports our defense and our progress towards Ukrainian goals,” he said. Zelensky in a new call to preserve solidarity and patriotism, which arises in the conditions when after 21 months of war they talk about the exhaustion of the Ukrainian armed forces and fatigue in general at the level of society.
