During his re-election, Emmanuel Macron promised that the fight against violence against women will be a big reason for his five-year term. Over the years, nothing seems to have changed despite his campaign promise. And there is one place where this is particularly problematic: transport. This is also where the state wants to act to make them safer for the women who use them. And the focus of the government’s attention is on taxis in particular, although it has just announced a number of measures regarding the latter.

New rules

It’s through and through Clément Bohn, Minister of Transport that these announcements were made on the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. But then what is it about? Well, the first is to simply ban all drivers who have been convicted of sexism or sexual assault. Unique training

Indeed, the Minister of Transport explains that next year the government will also introduce “ training on sexual or gender-based violence » for drivers. The goal? Let them know about it. It remains to be seen whether this will bear fruit, but ” almost all women report having suffered verbal or physical attacks In public transport according to the Prime Minister.
