The Chinese manufacturer continues its good dynamics. In a few years, BYD rose to 5th place in the world car manufacturers, slightly behind Ford and in front Hyundai.
He also became The first manufacturer of electric cars in the world, and he reached a milestone in 6 million of electric vehicles manufactured last week.
Already 6 million electric cars for BYD
The 6 millionth electric car of the Chinese manufacturer rolled off the assembly line of the factory in Zhengzhou. BYD thus overtook Tesla, which reached the figure 5 million cars sold last September
But the pace of production is most impressive. The Chinese giant claims to have produced 5 million cars under 6 inches only three months ! And then there are sales figures. Last October, BYD sold a total of nearly 300,000 electric vehicles, mostly in the Asian market.
The 6 millionth car with new energy has been named BAO 5, a luxury hybrid SUV. Equipped with a 4×4 transmission, it develops up to 680 hp. But it is unlikely that this large model will reach our lands…
A factory in Europe soon?
Since 2010, BYD has been actively expanding its global presence. And this applies in particular to the sector public transport. In particular, BYD is presented electrified buses and taxis in more than 400 cities spreads in more than 70 countries.
But to have a strong foothold outside Asia, the Chinese Empire must have a strong foothold in Europe. And to get there, and to escape bonus losses in countries such as France (until January 1, 2024) BYD has no other choice but to open a plant on the Old Continent.
German sources (according to the agency Reuters) mentioned the possible opening of a Chinese manufacturer in Hungary. Enough to further establish its dominance over electric cars in Europe and the rest of the world!
