L’ABT XGT is an extreme-looking Audi R8 taken from a race car registered in the DTM, the German Touring Car Championship. But unlike the competitive version, the ABT XGT is designed and approved for road use! According to ABT, this is the most exclusive model ever developed by its teams: in fact, it will be produced in a limited edition in 99 copiesand each model will be customized according to customers’ requests.

Unlike other ABT Sportsline products, this ABT XGT isn’t just a tuned Audi R8… It’s actually based on Audi R8 LMS GT2 a racing car that has received numerous modifications to make it “permissible”: a company that has required at least 2 years of work and that will allow its customers to experience the true feeling of a racing car on the open road. In particular, ABT used a full-scale prototype of its XGT to meet legal requirements for braking, noise and even safety, passing frontal and side impact crash tests.
The car is different a extreme style racing carwith large front and hood air intakes, 19″ and 20″ center lock ABT forged wheels or a substantial rear spoiler.
V10 engine with a capacity of 640 horsepower
The interior also resembles a sports model with a racing steering wheel, an on-board screen that displays all the information useful for driving, and the center console has several buttons and switches reminiscent of the world of racing. For ease of use on the road, a rear view camera, handbrake and central locking have been added to the package.
Under the hood we find a V10 engine 5.2 literswhich develops no less than 640 horsepower is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic gearbox with steering wheel paddles. With a weight of 1.4 tons, the ABT XGT promises excellent performance: the machine’s top speed is claimed at 310 km/h, depending on the adjustment of the rear wing.
