46 people have been brought to criminal liability, two of them have been arrested in other cases, they are being investigated for the creation of an organized crime group, usury, blackmail, attempted murder, violation of public order and peace, whistleblowers, money laundering, bribery, abuse of influence, illegal gambling organization, fraud, false statements, forgery, use of counterfeits, driving without a license, and child abuse.

In relation to 43 suspects, a decision was made to detain them for 24 hours, they will be brought to court with an application for a preventive measure.

The investigation was focused on the destruction of the Karani clan, led by three brothers – Emil, Aurel and Kostel Redukanu. They were picked up “masked” when they were in a restaurant in Bucharest.

The Karani clan was formed on the basis of family ties, as well as through affiliation or alliances (godfathers, brothers-in-law), and specialized in crimes against the person and against inheritance in order to impose the “reputation” of the group in the criminal environment, expanding spheres of influence, both in Bucharest and at the level of the entire country, as well as to expand criminal activities abroad, supporting some groups specialized in computer crimes.

The three brothers used thugs with imposing physiques and brutal behavior to prevent the escalation of conflicts with rival groups, as well as to have time to expand in other areas (the center and north of the capital, the resort of Mamaia Nord in the summer season).

In the course of the investigation, it became clear that the Karani group was joined by another group that specializes in committing computer crimes on the territory of the United States, with the aim of transporting illegal sums of money to the territory of Romania.
