A car that is too dangerous, too polluting and too bulky is causing more and more negative attitudes. That is why many municipalities are taking steps to reduce its place pedestrian streets as in Paris, or by imposing stricter traffic regulations, particularly through the establishment of ZFEs, among others. Some want to go even further and decided to lower the maximum speed on the streets.

Very low speed
This is, for example, again the case of Paris, which set limits on only 30 km/h. But it is not the only one. Indeed, this also applies to Brussels or even Amsterdam and Barcelona. But another city will do even more. This is Frankfurt, Germany. Indeed, environmentalists who are clearly opposed to the individual car want it to disappear from the city. Therefore, they decided that the maximum speed in the center of Frankfurt will be significantly reduced.
Radical decline
Indeed, from next December there will be a maximum speed limit only 20 km/h on the streets of the city center of the German municipality. A measure that is obviously hard to tempt, especially since it has the same speed as an electric bike. This can cause accidents or confusion by encouraging drivers to drive too fast to pass them. It remains to be seen how this will play out in the coming months…
