Russia cannot coexist with Ukraine’s current “regime” and will resist NATO’s push to help Kiev, no matter how long it takes, a senior diplomatic official in Moscow said on Tuesday, as quoted by Reuters.

“The current regime [de la Kiev] it is absolutely toxic, we do not see any option of coexistence with it at the moment,” ambassador plenipotentiary Rodion Miroshnyk told reporters in Moscow.

Miroshnyk also accused Ukraine of committing war crimes against the civilian population and that NATO supplied Kyiv with weapons prohibited by international treaties. But, according to him, the West will eventually lose interest in Ukraine.

“We can oppose NATO as long as it is necessary to fulfill the tasks formulated by the president,” the diplomat also said.

Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov also weighed in on the issue on Tuesday, when the Pentagon announced a day earlier new $100 million in military aid to Ukraine, which would include air defenses.

“The announcement of another supply of weapons to the US regime is nothing more than a prepared tranquilizer [președintele ucrainean Volodimir] Zelenskyi by foreign “benefactors”, says the statement published in the Telegram channel of the Russian Embassy in Washington.

He also stated that the Ukrainian government and the front-line situation in Kyiv are on the verge of “complete collapse.” Antonov drew attention to the fact that the Pentagon announced what a Russian official called a “death gift” on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the start of Euromaidan in Kyiv.

“The tragic symbolism of Washington’s “charity” is that the authors and ideologues of the anti-Russian campaign seem to explain to Ukrainians: they are still in the game and continue to bet on them. The fact that the blood of thousands will be shed through this weapon is considered here, but not accepted. For the US military-industrial complex, only one thing is important – making a profit from the “Ukraine project,” the Russian diplomat said.

“It is important for the West to understand: Russia, which is fighting for its national interests and security, cannot be defeated on the battlefield,” the ambassador said. He added that any supply of Western weapons to Ukraine is “a continuation of the agony of the bankrupt regime in Kyiv.”
