Forester, is one of Subaru’s best sellers, a model that, thanks to the Impreza, has allowed the Japanese brand to gain momentum and market share in most markets around the world. It must be said that its first generation, equipped with an engine and four-wheel drive, made it a separate model, very interesting for customers who are looking for a compact and comfortable model, but at the same time comfortable transition and on roads with poor surface (just like its rival Suzuki Vitara!). Unfortunately for us, The Forester is no longer sold in France, the fault of the environmental penalty, which will punish its Boxer engine very severely. You have to look at our friends the Belgians to be able to see fresher examples than those now working in France.
Finally a light style
For us or not for us, it still remains that it now benefits from restyling , which, as always, modernizes its style and equipment. At first glance, he gets lightness and grace, with a silhouette that was toned down from the current one, with much more geometric lines. Its headlights are slimmer and visually enhance its appearance, a far cry from the more clumsy style used in the early part of its career. It’s the same at the rear, where the headlights are less ‘blocky’ and now meet a gloss black strip, giving it a more elegant look. On board, it’s more subtle: the design of the dashboard is almost unchanged, but we will note the appearance of an 11.6-inch central touch screenwith a 360° camera, ventilated front seats and an emergency braking system.
Also with a Boxer engine
under the hood The Forester retains its 2.5-liter flat-four engine that develops 180 horsepower. It sends its power to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which has improved sound insulation. Subaru was brought changes in suspension and shock absorber settingsand introduced a more playful suspension on the Forester Sport. On the market from spring 2024the updated Forester will later receive a new hybrid engine and a more adventurous version that can be called the Wilderness.
