The final whistle signaled the departure of the Albanians, with coach Silvinho shaking hands with the fans, hugging and taking selfies with some.

This is the second time in history that Albania has qualified for the European Football Championship, the first being in the final tournament in 2016 (hosted by France).

At that time, the Albanians were in Group A along with France (host), Switzerland and Romania.

Albania lost to Switzerland (0:1), lost to France (0:2), but beat Romania in the last match of the group (1:0).

The Albanians finished the group in 3rd place (with 3 points), while the Tricolors were last (with only one accumulated point).
