Initially produced with a 100% electric motor, model range Jeep Avenger then expanded with the introduction of a heat engine and now a new 48V hybrid engine (MHEV: Mild Hybrid 48V) called e-hybrid.

“The history of Jeep and its versatile vehicles embodies freedom of choice for customers and reflects the brand’s commitment to variety in a wide range. Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid: 3-cylinder 48V hybrid engine

Under the hood we find a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine that develops 100 horsepower and 205 Nm of torqueand related to a Lithium-ion battery 48 volts and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission: it includes a Electric motor 21 kW (29 horsepower) and 55 Nm of torque, inverter and central transmission unit, which allows to increase its efficiency.

This electric assist improves low-speed torque and a quiet and responsive start, thanks to the “e-Creeping” function, which provides a low-speed creep, which is especially useful in traffic jams or during parking maneuvers. Then it is possible drive through the city in 100% electric mode for about 1 km, with a speed of less than 30 km/h. The e-Hybrid technology also allows energy to be recovered during deceleration and regenerative braking.

According to Jeep, the e-Hybrid engine provides optimal fuel efficiency saving 15% of CO2 emissions and consumption : estimated CO2 emissions vary from 111 to 114 grams per kilometer depending on the version.

New equipment

The new Avenger e-Hybrid differs in that new equipment, such as an electrically operated glass sunroof, leather upholstery or an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with a massage function. To differentiate the Avenger e-Hybrid from the 100% electric version, it features a special green ‘e’ badge on the tailgate.

Inside, we find the e-Hybrid’s 7-inch digital instrument cluster (10.25-inch optional), which displays information about driving mode, battery charge and even sensor power readings. The Avenger e-Hybrid also features paddle shifters on the steering wheel, allowing the 6-speed DCT transmission to shift gears in sequential mode.

Bookings for the new Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid will open from the end of this month November 2023. Three treatments will be offered: longitude, altitude and summit.
