If you’ve been following the news closely, you may not have missed the recent information about Zebrance insurance.
For several weeks, Zebrance, introducing himself as a “digital insurance at the service of people”, increased its presence in various media. However, last Friday the Office for Prudential Regulation and Resolution (ACPR) issued a warning that qualified Zebrance “scam” and advise victims to file a complaint quickly.
A huge scam
The ACPR emphasized that Zebrance was not approved and does not have a permit to carry out direct insurance operations in France. Contracts issued by this company were advertised as “Does not matter”.
The apparent lack of consultants, a phone number that directed to a website to sign up for competitive rates, and a vague indication of its location (supposedly located in Dover in the United States) raised suspicions.
Of particular concern is the risk posed by Zebrance, because the company issues fake green cardsthereby misleading consumers.
In addition to receiving money, the consequences can obviously be complicated in the event of a road accident, as customers are not actually insured. Even worse, the personal data provided to Zebrance can be used for fraudulent purposes.
What if you have “insured” with Zebrance?
Given the fact that it’s a scam, you can’t break the contract, strictly speaking, because it’s not legally binding.
Consumers are being urged to be vigilant when faced with this scam, and those who have unfortunately signed up to Zebrance ‘services’ are being urged by the ACPR to take action take out insurance in a verified company in the European Economic Area and file a complaint quickly against the Zebra.
