Like the new Porsche Cayenne, the upcoming Panamera, which will see the light of day on November 24th during the presentation that will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, its interior, which has just been revealed, takes pride of place on the entire screen.
The new Panamera uses the Porsche Driver Experience concept, a configuration that has already proven itself on board the Porsche Taycan, moving the driver to the center of events, even if it is not necessarily obvious from the number of screens present on board.
Strict classicism
Therefore, the Panamera will benefit from a fully digital display. The main controls are located on or near the steering wheel. A switch makes it easy to navigate the options on the instrument panel, while another dedicated to modes allows you to select driving programs without taking your hands off the wheel. The gearbox selector lever is located next to the same steering wheel.
This configuration frees up space on the center console, providing space for a rather original air conditioner control panel. This console combines tactile surfaces with physical buttons. New vents without fins and with electric adjustment add sophistication to everything.
Three screens for three different functions
The slightly curved 12.6-inch screen acts as an instrument cluster and presents clear driving information structured in three zones. The driver can customize these configurations depending on the equipment and appearance selected. In addition, the additional projection display can be controlled directly from the sports steering wheel.
The second screen is located in the center and has a diagonal of 12.3 inches. Its role remains the same and it includes the entire infotainment part. The interface is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Porsche has also revised the menu and some features.
The third monitor, a 10.9-inch touchscreen, is designed for the front passenger. It allows you to control various functions (navigation, multimedia content, etc.) and even watch series. The screen has a special film that prevents the driver from seeing the screen from his seat to avoid any form of distraction.
