The budget of the Unified National Social Health Insurance Fund (FNUASS) will be increased by 1.7 billion lei, Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku announced at the beginning of the executive committee meeting on Thursday. Funds are directed to the provision of medical services, medicines, medical materials and products, as well as to national rehabilitation programs.
Due to the insufficiency of the budget and the lack of its adjustment, the NHSU has been without money since the beginning of autumn, and in recent months has accumulated debts to providers of medical services – hospitals, medical offices, pharmacies and analytical laboratories.
“We are increasing the budget of the unified national medical social insurance fund by 1.7 billion lei from the budget reserve available to the Government for medical services, medicines, materials and medical products, including for the development of national health care treatment programs and the provision of compensated and free medicines”, This was announced by Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku on Thursday.
The government also allocated, also on October 20, to the budget of the Unified National Social Health Insurance Fund (FNUASS) 200 million lei for payments for medical services offered to patients in hospitals, with a deadline for payment in October, respectively for the payment of hospital drugs, sanitary and hygienic materials, food and utilities.
