The leader of the PNL deputies, Gabriel Andronake, said that recently “an anomaly has appeared, namely, television shows in periods that clearly go beyond the time allotted for children’s programs, appear to be supported, sponsored by gambling operators.”

“There is also a ban on advertising in children’s programs of gambling, energy drinks, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and vaping, since, from our point of view, at the moment this norm appears only in the norm of application according to the Audiovisual Code. which is not the main norm. We believe that we should intervene as a legislator in this matter due to the fact that such situations appear more and more often in television programs aimed at children,” explained Gabriel Andronake.

Decree 20/2023 on the organization and use of gambling and the functioning of the National Gambling Office (ONJN) is to be debated in the Chamber of Deputies.

At the end of October, the Senate adopted a draft law that adopts the resolution initiated by the government and introduces new changes, such as: increasing the fees associated with the license to organize and conduct gambling games, banning alcoholic beverages on the premises, creating a register of companies and headquarters apartments, as well as increasing the guarantees provided by companies, the obligation of operators to have their headquarters in Romania.
