Until recently, if you wanted a certain piece of equipment in your car, you had to tick a box in the configurator. In fact, it was then impossible to go back and add an option you didn’t choose to buy after the fact. But with the development of cars equipped 4 or 5G connection, the situation has changed significantly. From now on and thanks to remote upgrades, you can use additional equipment after receiving the car if you change your mind. This is, for example, what Tesla offers with autopilot, but not only. Indeed, other brands do this too.
There is an exception to the end of sales of diesel cars in 2035, voted by the European Parliament: luxury cars (Ferrari, etc.). Of course, there are not many of them, so the emissions will be limited, but for the symbol and social justice, it will be necessary to return pic.twitter.com/6gPS9lc6ZE

Subscriptions are becoming more widespread
This is, for example, the case of BMW, which offers its customers heated seats for 20 euros per month. This allows them to use this option only when they need it, especially in the winter. For its part, Mercedes even offers buyers an opportunity release the power some of their electric cars or even take advantage of rear wheel steering. All for a clearly quite high price, on the order of several thousand dollars per year. And it seems that more and more manufacturers are offering this kind of service.
More in the future?
On the Audi side, we explain, for example, that with the next generation of electronic architecture, even more can be offered features on demand on subscription. A trend that should increase over the years, which should also allow manufacturers to increase their turnover. Moreover, purchasing additional options or subscribing to a subscription has become easier thanks to the ability to do it directly from the touch screen.
