“In the context of the security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, we clarify that the Israeli authorities have reported that, after conducting checks, two other citizens with dual citizenship, Israeli and Romanian, residing in the State of Israel are being held hostage in the Gaza Strip,” the statement said. the message sent on Tuesday evening by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv and the Consulate General of Romania in Haifa maintain contacts with the Israeli authorities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported on October 21 that one of the citizens with dual citizenship, Israel and Romania, who was initially listed as missing, is a hostage in Gaza. This brings the number of Israeli-Romanian dual nationals held hostage in the Gaza Strip to three.

It should also be recalled that, according to the information provided so far by the Israeli authorities, five Romanians with dual citizenship living in Israel were killed as a result of the Hamas attack.
