At the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, the Japanese manufacturer presents a new concept car: Subaru Sport Mobility concept. It is distinguished by a futuristic and explosive design, which could well herald the beginning of a new era of the stylistic language of the brand.

“This concept car embodies the fun that Subaru offers in the era of electrification, embodying the joy of going anywhere, anytime and driving at will in everyday and extraordinary environments. Calm driving allows us to start new exciting adventures. It’s a battery electric vehicle (BEV) concept that speaks to the new values ​​of Subaru Sport.”announced Subaru in a press release.

Subaru Sport Mobility Concept: a futuristic sports coupe

Subaru has been rather stingy with the details of its new concept car, but we discover a futuristic style with very curved and refined lines that emphasize the circulation of air currents, with elements materialized in blue, such as the large air intake located in the middle of the front fender that directs the air to the blue vent located on the hood, the solid rims or the wheel arches that appear to be crocheted.

The headlights are very narrow at the front, and at the end of the hood we find an illuminated logo. This light sign echoes the rear, where we also find slim taillights, as well as a The Subaru lettering is illuminated in red. The lines on the back are quite straight, which confirms the desire to take care of aerodynamics in general to optimize battery life.

Electric and sports

The model is a variety crossover coupe, which has SUV attributes like rocker panels or even marked fender extensions, but doesn’t benefit from very high ground clearance. The Japanese manufacturer seems to be focusing on a sporty driving style, with a driver-oriented vehicle, good outward visibility and a low seating position. Inside, there’s a large central touchscreen that complements the digital instrument cluster in front of the driver.

Under the hood we find a 100% electric motorization, in combination with an all-wheel drive transmission. No further details have been revealed, but the model is reminiscent of the Subaru SVX, a coupe from the 1990s that also featured large glass surfaces, as well as a black roof like the Subaru Sport Mobility Concept.

It goes without saying that the Subaru Sport Mobility concept is firmly focused on the future, as evidenced by the amazing concept Subaru Air Mobilitya kind of futuristic flying car displayed next to it.
