The man called his victims from the colony, late at night, claiming that their relatives had been in an accident and needed money for hospitalization. A 20-year-old young woman, who was at large, went to the victim’s home to collect money and belongings.

The main suspect in this case is a 45-year-old resident of Pyatra-Neamts, who spent more than half of his life in prison. He has been in prison since January 13, 2000, serving a 30-year sentence for aggravated murder, robbery and fraud.

During this month, with the accomplice of a 20-year-old female prisoner, the prisoner managed to deceive several people, especially the elderly, using the “Accident” method. The man called his victims from prison late at night, claiming that their relatives had been in an accident and needed money for medical care, and the young woman went to the defrauded home, where she took the money.

So, on the night of October 6-7, 2023, the two managed to deceive a woman from the Ipoteshti commune, who gave 6,470 euros, 46,400 lei, a chain and a pair of gold earrings.

“The evidence provided in the case established that on the night of June 10, 2023, between 10:40 p.m. and 2:40 a.m., according to a prior conspiracy with a man who is in a penal institution. unit, knowing about his criminal intentions, as well as about the criminal activity committed, a 20-year-old woman from the Suceava municipality drove a car to the house of the injured person, where she collected the sum of 5,000 euros, 1,200 lei and 2 watches from her. Later, he moved within the radius of the municipality of Suceava to the designated place, from where he took money and other goods 3 times, at different time intervals, respectively the sum of 6,200 lei, a chain and a pair of earrings. of gold, the amount of 33,000 lei and 700 euros and the amount of 6,000 lei and 770 euros, causing a loss of approximately 80,000 lei. The two used the same method of surgery on other victims. In addition, on October 18, from 01:00 to 03:30, a young woman took 4,000 lei and 100 euros from another victim, from the commune of Dumbraveni, and on October 24, the woman moved within the boundaries of the commune of Vadu-Moldovei, Suceava County. , at the victim’s residential address from the area where he received the sum of 8,600 lei.

The law enforcement officers obtained a search warrant at the penitentiary, and the investigators found a mobile phone and several SIM cards in the detention cell where the suspect is kept along with 4 other detainees.
