The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, says there is “fierce fighting” between the Israeli army and its soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip. In this area, Israel has been carrying out ground invasions since Friday evening, AFP reports, citing News.ro.

“Our fighters are currently engaged in fierce fighting with automatic and anti-tank weapons against the occupying forces invading the northwest (Gaza Strip),” Hamas’ armed wing Ezeedin al. – Kasam.

On the other hand, the Israeli army presents a statement on Sunday about operations in the north of the Palestinian enclave, reports CNN.

“Aircraft led by Israeli forces are striking Hamas military infrastructure, and some of them are carrying Hamas terrorists. Anti-tank missile launch sites, observation posts and military infrastructure were hit,” Israel reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday the beginning of the second phase of the war against Hamas, with the aim of destroying Ezzedine al-Qassam’s brigades and the Hamas government and returning prisoners taken by Hamas back to Israel.
