Barcelona suffered a shock defeat at home to Real Madrid

Barcelona hosted rival Real Madrid at the 11th stage of LaLiga.

Without the injured Pedri and De Jong and with Robert Lewandowski on the bench, Barcelona opened the scoring in the 6th when Ilkay Gundogan took advantage of a misunderstanding in the visitors’ defense to beat Kepa from a few yards out.

In the second half, when the tempo of the game was quite low, Jude Bellingham scored an incredible shot from 25 yards and Ter Stegen was unable to keep out despite having a touch on the ball. It was the ninth goal for Bellingham this season in La Liga.

Both teams eventually tried to force a victory, and Madrid struck in the second minute of overtime through the same Jude Bellingham, who scored again from a few meters.

The final score was 2-1 in favor of Real Madrid, who returned to the top of the Spanish league, level with Girona on 28 points.

Barcelona remains in 3rd place in the championship with 24 points.
