Range Mercedes continues to update, and last year a leaked internal document revealed some new features to us. This calendar has changed a bit since then, but we have a good idea of what the star brand has in store for 2024.
According to this document, Mercedes was supposed to end production of its EQC in 2023, but after all, it seems that a new generation is in the works. On the other hand, the same document announced that the EQA sedan (electric A-class) will only appear in 2025: it could eventually be pushed to 2024.
In short, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but Mercedes promises rich news, which will be even more intense next year. With new models coming in 2023 that won’t hit the market until next year, that’s a big deal 2024 year which is waiting for a mark. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.
Mercedes EQ: new electric cars in the program
Mercedes offers many 100% electric cars in its EQ range, but they are still very expensive. Sales remain modest at the moment, even if they are growing steadily. To change this and increase the volume, a Mercedes EQA Sedan seems like a perfect solution. She must use the MMA platform (Mercedes-Benz modular architecture), unlike the current EQA, which uses the MFA2 platform.
This modular MMA platform should also be equipped Mercedes EQC the second generation, which will no longer be based on the GLC platform. Mercedes would also consider offering a new electric “SUL”a mix between an SUV and a sedan, or more commonly known as an “SUV Coupé”: a model that will compete with the Peugeot 408 and other Renault Rafales, but which logically should cost much more.
New 2023 products will arrive in 2024
It was first announced at the Munich Motor Show two years ago Mercedes EQGelectric version of the G-Class, should be officially presented in 2024. At the same time, a new generation Mercedes G-class thermal and hybrid should be there next year as well.
Recently discovered, news Mercedes-AMG GT AND Mercedes CLE should enter the market in 2024. However, these niche models are not the ones that will increase the sales of the star brand the most.
You’ll still have to wait until the end of this year to find out more about Mercedes’ new arrivals for next year.
