The law prohibits British fans from watching the match “Barcelona” – “Real”.
A law from the 1960s says that football matches cannot be televised on Saturdays between 2.45pm and 5.15pm (local time).
The law was passed to encourage fans to go to the stadium, but it also affects the broadcast of matches in other countries.
British fans will therefore miss Jude Bellingham’s first El Clasico appearance, with the match kicking off at 3.15pm local time.
“We are very disappointed. British fans won’t be able to see El Clasico, they won’t be able to see Bellingham. Even if we support local measures, we believe that this ban should be limited to domestic football and not extend to foreign competitions.” Keegan Piercemanager of LaLiga in Great Britain and Ireland.
