A UN resolution on a humanitarian pause in Gaza and another resolution on a ceasefire were not adopted by the group’s Security Council, Sky News reported.
A US resolution called for consideration of a humanitarian pause to allow aid to flow into Gaza, but Russia and China vetoed the idea.
The United Arab Emirates also voted against, with 10 members voting in favor of the resolution and two abstaining.
Russia yesterday said it would not support the plan and introduced its own resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire.
But even this idea did not pass, after it was vetoed by the United States and Great Britain.
China, Gabon, Russia and the United Arab Emirates voted for the resolution, nine countries abstained.
Earlier today, the spokesman for the British Prime Minister said that he would discuss a humanitarian pause in Gaza, but, in his opinion, a ceasefire would only benefit Hamas.
Two votes were held last week, both calling for a ceasefire, both of which failed.
