This was announced by the mayor of the Shoimush commune, Mihai Gabriel Irimi, on his page in the social network, noting that 407 coins were very well preserved and were handed over to law enforcement agencies.

“This is the first time I have encountered such a situation, the coins are beautiful, one is not like the other and they are very well preserved. According to the procedure, they are inventoried by the mayor and transferred to the Hunedoara County Cultural Office. Together with the authorized finder, I handed over 407 coins that will become part of the heritage of the Romanian state,” said the mayor of Shoimush commune.

According to him, the person who discovered the coins will receive compensation from the Romanian state in the amount of 30% of their value.

“Perhaps there is also a Dacian or Roman fortress in the area where they were discovered. Specialists of the Ministry of Culture will conduct the research,” Irimi said. (photo: Nikkytok | Dreamstime.com)
