After the match, the Swedish team was escorted to the airport, and the Swedish fans present at the stadium were kept in the stands until 4 am, while the area around the stadium was guarded by law enforcement agencies.
On Thursday, the Continental Forum decided that the match would not be replayed and the final score would remain as it was recorded after the first 45 minutes, 1-1.
Regarding the match between Belgium and Sweden, which was interrupted at half-time at the request and with the consent of the two teams, following the terrorist attack that killed two Swedish fans in Brussels on 16 October, the UEFA Executive Committee decided today that: is canceled and the result at half-time (1- 1) is confirmed as final, each team is awarded one point in the Group F standings, which will be updated accordingly. In order to make this decision, the executive committee took note of the fact that it was impossible to hold the second half of the match the next day.
Both the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Swedish Football Association, given the circumstances, expressly expressed their desire not to continue the match and consider the result at halftime (1-1) final. – it is stated in the official press release of UEFA.
