
At least 17 journalists, most of them Palestinian, were killed after a Hamas attack on Israel that triggered a series of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, the Committee to Protect Journalists said, NBC News reported, citing News.ro.
One was killed in an airstrike in Lebanon. The Israeli military told Reuters it was investigating the incident, which occurred in a border region where Hezbollah and Israel exchanged fire.
Of the 17 journalists confirmed killed in the conflict, 13 were Palestinian, three Israeli and one Lebanese, according to the committee, known by its acronym CPJ.
According to him, three journalists disappeared or were detained, eight were injured.
CPJ called on all parties to ensure the safety of journalists, who it said are making great sacrifices to cover the crisis in the region.
