
The most important running event in Romania, the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest MARATHON, which is being held for the 16th time, will take place on October 14-15. Sunday, October 15, is dedicated to competitive races. The first start will be at 07.50 for the Vodafone 10km Wheelchair Race, followed by the Vodafone 10km Individual Race at 08.00. The start of competitive races – Raiffeisen Bank Race on 42 km, Playtika Race on 21 km and relays – will take place at 09.30.
Saturday, October 14 there were non-competitive wheelchair races starting at 08.50, followed by runners in the EY Romania Popular Race (2.5 km) from 09.00 and children’s races from 10.30.
Saturday’s race routes started and ended at Constitution Square and ran from Bd.Unirii to Piața Unirii. The Popular Race, presented by EY, is one of the most popular races of the event, which practically opened the weekend of the Bucharest Marathon 2023. The route was 2.5 km and includes spectacular points in the center of the capital. The EY People’s Run was non-competitive, open to runners of all abilities.
The “Children’s Run” series offered small athletes who like to be active the opportunity to shine at the starts in the age categories 0-3 years, 4-5 years, 6-7 years, 8-9 years, 10-12 years. Children’s races began with the idea of the joy of children running simply for fun, the races are free, without competition, without time, and prizes are determined by drawing.
Sunday, October 15 dedicated to competitive racing. The first start will be at 07.50 for the Vodafone 10km Wheelchair Race, followed by the Vodafone 10km Individual Race at 08.00. The start of competitive races – Raiffeisen Bank Race 42 km, Playtika Race 21 km and Relay Race – will take place at 09.30.
Passing by the most important emblematic and cultural landmarks of Bucharest, runners will be able to explore the capital on an extraordinary route, starting from Bd.Libertății (in front of Izvor Park) and arriving at Piata Constituției, passing through the boulevards to the center and north of Bucharest (Calea Buzești, Piața Victoriei, Kiseleff Road, Calea Victoriei, Bd. Unirii, Bd. Decebal, Bd. Bessarabie). The track is flat and fast, with a total difference of 100m.
The organizer of the RunInBucharest event announces important information for all participants:
– 16,000 runners are expected at the Raiffeisen Bucharest MARATHON;
– Runners aged 0-18 have free registration;
– Online registration is open until Tuesday, October 10;
– Registration will also be available during the Sport Expo, subject to available seats, at Piața Constituției, starting Thursday, October 12, at 4:00 p.m.;

– Bucharest Marathon and runners support 14 social initiatives;
– Sport Expo is a popular destination for runners, sponsors and up to 20,000 visitors and sports fans. Located on Piata Constituției, this is the place to grab your sports kit and meet important exhibitors from the fitness, wellness and running industries.
– More than 600 volunteers will be on the race routes (including at the start and finish) on the days of the event;
– There will be 11 entertainment points and 10 hydration points on the route;
– The routes of all races start in the center of Bucharest, at Piața Constituției, and maps are available on the website www.bucharest-marathon.com.
– on Saturday, October 14, traffic restrictions will be valid from 08:00 to 15:00, and on Sunday, October 15, traffic restrictions will be valid from 07:00 to 16:00.
It will take place on Saturday, October 14, at 1:00 p.m Under Armor Shake Out Runtraining with assistance 321 Sports. The length of the route is approximately 5 kilometers, it will pass in Izvor Park. Practices will not be recorded as this event is not competitive. The race is free, open to all Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest MARATHON participants. Pre-registration is required.

Spectators can come out and support the thousands of children and adults running through the center of Bucharest, or/and can come and register for one of the races on Sunday.
This year, participants of the Bucharest Raiffeisen Bank Marathon will also receive personal photo albums. The albums are offered by Raiffeisen Bank, and the novelty of this edition is that they will be offered to everyone, regardless of whether they are competitors, volunteers, sponsors or partners.
Next year will be the first in the life of the Bucharest Marathon, the World Masters Athletics Championships will be held as part of the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest MARATHON from October 13, 2024.
