Ronnie O’Sullivan: ‘I have nothing left to achieve in snooker’

After losing to Zhang And at the English Open last week, Ronnie O’Sullivan was defeated by China’s Liu Haotian in the quarter-finals in Wuhan.

The seven-time world champion nicknamed “The Rocket” said some time ago that he would play snooker until death, but changed his mind after crashing out of the Wuhan Open.

“When I first became No. 1 in the world, I couldn’t believe it. When you stay here for a few years, you’re no longer impressed by the wins, the World Cup or being number 1 in the world.

When I was younger, I wanted it all. When you get them, you get used to them and everything seems normal. It’s a shame because you lose that hunger and desire.

I have nothing more to achieve in snooker. I wish there was something to fight for. I have achieved more than I could have imagined and more than any other player on the planet.

Liu played very well. He doesn’t concede much, has good pocket shots, plays well safely and has been able to score a few goals under pressure. He deserves the place he got. I could have played a little bit better, but I don’t think I made a lot of mistakes.” – he said, reports Eurosport.
