​Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and Russian Andriy Rublev will fight for a place in the final of the Masters in Shanghai after their victories in the quarters.

On Friday, Dimitrov (19 ATP) defeated the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (22 ATP) with a score of 7-6(2), 6-4. The match lasted an hour and 40 minutes.

In the second match of the day, Rublev (7 ATP) outlasted Frenchman Hugo Humber (34 ATP) 6-2, 6-3 after a match that lasted an hour and a half.

Know:

  • Dimitrov and Rublev have met six times on the ATP circuit, and the score is equal: 3-3. The two players get along very well and are friends off the tennis court.
  • In the other semi-final in Shanghai, the Pole Hubert Gurkach (17 ATP) will meet the American Sebastian Korda (26 ATP).

The Rolex Shanghai Masters takes place from October 4 to 15 on hard, is part of the ATP Masters 1000 category and has a total prize pool of 8,800,000. The titular champion is Daniil Medvedev (2019). The last editions did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
