
Miruna Pascu, the mother of a 19-year-old drugged driver who killed two young people in the city on May 2, remains in custody, the Bucharest Court of Appeal ruled on Friday, Agerpres reported.
On October 9, a Bucharest court decided to release Miruna Pasca from custody and place her under judicial supervision for 60 days, but the prosecutor’s office filed an appeal, which was accepted by the Bucharest Court of Appeal on Friday.
“On the basis of Art. 425 (1) paragraph 7 clause 2 letter a Cpp rap. to art 205 Cpp accepts the appeal filed by the prosecutor’s office at the High Court of Cassation and Justice – DIICOT – the central structure against the decision of 09.10.2023 issued by the judge of the previous chamber of the Bucharest Court. Partially cancel the disputed conclusion and decide: Remove the provision on replacing the preventive measure of arrest with the measure of judicial control regarding the defendant Pasku Miruna. On the basis of Art. 348 p. 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Ap. to art 207, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code, recognizes the legality and reasonableness of the preventive measure chosen for the accused Pasku Miruna, which he retains. Other provisions of the contested decision, which do not contradict this decision, remain in force. Final”, according to the decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
Miruna Pascua recently sued DIICOT together with her son Vlad Pascua and her ex-husband Claudio Pascua.
She is accused of allegedly blackmailing a girl who is a witness in a case involving her son. In particular, she threatened Vlad Paska’s friend that she would publish compromising information and images about her if she cooperated with the prosecutor’s office.
In the same material, Vlad Pasco, who is in pretrial detention, is accused of drug consumption and trafficking, and Claudio Pasco of failure to keep weapons and ammunition.

DIICOT prosecutors show in the indictment that the young man had been using drugs since the age of 13, when he first started using high-risk drugs, then high-risk drugs, surrounding himself with people his own age with similar concerns, and from people who supplied him with a wide spectrum of drugs – cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine, fentanyl and oxycodone:
- “From the evidence presented in the case, it became clear that against the background of emotional problems that arose in the family context, at a minor age (13 years old), he began to use drugs of increased danger, then of increased danger. drugs, surrounding himself with a circle of people his age with similar problems, as well as people who supplied him with a variety of drugs – marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, fentanyl and oxycodone.
- The constant use of drugs marked the personal evolution of the defendant, who developed a theatrical behavior, which was also facilitated by access to a number of material resources through social networks.
- This combination of factors ultimately led to the commission of the crimes under investigation in this case, as well as those that are the subject of the case prepared by the prosecutor’s office at the Mangalia District Court after on the night of 18/19/08/2023, sub. under the influence of high-risk drugs and the high risk he had previously taken, he drove a car and caused a traffic accident on May 2 that killed two people.”
The accident on August 18, when Vlad Pascu killed two students aged 21 and 22 with his car, revealed shocking details. Vlada Paska was stopped by the police twice – the day before the tragedy, on the filter, and the same night. He was allowed to leave the police station without a drug test, even though drugs were found in his car and the car did not have valid RCA insurance. Less than an hour later, Vlad Pasku caused an accident in which two students died.
