Christophe Galtier was in charge of Paris Saint-Germain last season and three and a half months after parting ways with the French, he chose a new challenge.
Christophe Galtier became the new coach of the Qatari team Al-Duhail
In his first experience outside of France, after coaching Saint-Etienne, Lille and Nice, Galtier has committed to Qatar, where he will coach the reigning champions.
The Frenchman has replaced Argentine Hernán Crespo on the bench for Al Duhail, who are fourth in Ligue 1.
Founded only 14 years ago, the team already has eight league titles and 11 cups and super cups.
In the current season, Al Duhail have won three, drawn one and lost one in their first five matches of the season in Qatar.
The team’s most valuable player is Philippe Coutinho, a former Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona midfielder.
