The average net salary in August decreased by 34 lei compared to July, Statistics reported on Thursday, the nominal value was 4,531 lei.

The highest net salaries are in IT&C (10,419 lei) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (2,542 lei).

In the budgetary sphere, in August 2023, net salaries decreased slightly compared to the previous month in public administration (-1.5%), respectively, in education (-1.1%), mainly due to the provision of vouchers in previous months, as well as a decrease in hourly wages teaching staff during school holidays).

In the field of health care and social assistance, the average net salary increased compared to the previous month (+2.1%, mainly due to the provision of vouchers).

The biggest pay increase was for seafarers (more specifically watercraft), whose net pay increased by 42% in one year, followed by education workers (where the strike resulted in a net pay increase of over 30%).
