President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi is making his first official visit to Romania on Tuesday, where he will be received by President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku. At the same time, he will meet with the heads of both chambers of the parliament and speak at a joint plenary session.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi will be received by President Klaus Iohannis at Kotrochen Palace at 1:00 p.m., and face-to-face talks and official discussions will take place. After that, the heads of the two states will make joint statements to the press.

The President of Ukraine will meet with the heads of the two chambers of the Legislative Assembly, Alfred Simonis and Nikolae Chuke. A joint plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., and Zelensky will deliver a speech at 4:30 p.m., political sources told News.ro.

According to some sources, the president of Ukraine could also lay a wreath at the monument to Heroes in Karolsky Park.

From 17:40 Zelenskyi will be received by Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku at the Victoria Palace.

Head of state Klaus Iohannis last spoke with Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Thursday at the summit of the European Political Community held in Granada, Spain.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal confirmed in August in an interview with Digi 24 that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will visit Romania on an unspecified date, and “soon” the Ukrainian leader will also meet with the Prime Minister of Romania.
