No consequences
In fact, this event has the form ” tax (in the amount of 4.6%, ed.) on the operation of intercity transport infrastructure » which, therefore, will apply to highways. And the companies responsible for the latter are already on their feet oppose the government. They claim that they will then be obliged to pass this measure on to the price paid by the users. And this despite the fact that the fare at the beginning of the year has already increased by 4.75%. The government, for its part, wants to reassure and promises that users will not see the difference, although they are already very worried about this measure.
No promotion
Either way, that’s a promise. ClĂ©ment Bohn, Minister of Transport an interview with Jean-Jacques Bourdain on Sud Radio. The latter explains that this tax ” has no consequences, I say this for those who listen to us, on customs“. A promise that the government will commit to, which reminds that the contracts that bind it with the companies will be reviewed “in the coming years”. He also adds that “these rate changes are part of inflation” and that they are inevitable. Which suggests another hike is expected next year anyway…
