It took the world number two one hour and 42 minutes to defeat the athlete from France 6-2, 7-5.

Alcaraz will face the winner of the match between Mykhailo Kukushkin (245 ATP) and Daniel Evans (33 ATP, 30th seed) for a place in the round of 16 of the 1000-point tournament.
