The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR), headed by General Kyryll Budanov, released a new video showing actions against Russian troops in Crimea, filmed by Ukrainian servicemen who took part in the operation.
Although it appears to be more propaganda in nature for domestic consumption, the recording captures at one point (second 00:15) how Ukrainian forces participating in the operation appear to have been attacked by Russian defenders with kamikaze drones.

The Deputy Chief of the GUR, Major General Vadym Sibitsky, explained last week in an interview with the American media that the huge number of drones used on the battlefield in Ukraine, as well as their real-time video surveillance, forces the troops and armored vehicles, vehicles in the open field to have only several minutes before becoming a target.
“Survival rate [a forțelor aflate] in motion for no more than 10 minutes,” he emphasized then. However, it should be emphasized that he was referring to ground forces, and the situation may be quite different in the case of special operations such as the current one.
With the publication of a new video, the GUR announced that the “Artan” special unit had three “stops” in Crimea: on the western coast of the region illegally annexed by Russia in 2014, on the Kinburg Peninsula and the Tendriv Peninsula – a narrow coast. strips on the Black Sea from the Kherson region.
An official statement released on Thursday evening by the GUR said the images show the sequence of the operation “recently”, most likely referring to the landing reported on Wednesday. Ukrainian services also released a video of the operation at the time, but it was shot from a drone, unlike what is now being shot from the level of the military who conducted the raid.
It is reported that three Ukrainian special forces took part in the latest raid against Russian forces in Crimea
However, the Defense Express website notes an apparent inconsistency in the messages sent between Wednesday night and Thursday by the service under General Budanov.
The GUR statement on Wednesday mentions two more special units that took part in the operation, Stugna and Bratstvo, and the new message mentions the Artan unit.
The last time this Kyiv special unit went on a combat mission was in August, when it took part in another raid in Crimea, the target of which was allegedly the Tarkhankut Peninsula. This operation took place on August 24, when Ukraine celebrates Independence Day from the USSR.
But the most likely explanation is that all 3 units of the Ukrainian special forces are now sent into battle.
“This is not the first and not the last operation of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine on the Crimean Peninsula. Most of them will become known only after some time. This is a systematic, planned and coordinated work of all involved units,” said Viktor Torkotyuk, commander of the “Artan” unit.
“The enemy will feel the consequences of our work for a long time,” he added.
