Ukrainian troops have not been able to liberate a single town since the capture of the village of Robotyne was announced at the end of August.
Ukraine’s lack of significant progress on the front in the Zaporizhia region, in southeastern Ukraine, gives the Russians time to lay new minefields in the area of the city of Tokmak, the Ukrainian Strategic Center warned today in its daily bulletin, reports La Razon, citing Rador Radio Romania.
“The delay in the advance of the forces of the Operational and Strategic Group “Tavria” in the direction of Tokmak gives the enemy the opportunity to “sow” new minefields inside their defensive positions,” the analytical center said in a statement.
According to the bulletin, Russian attacks against the flanks of Ukrainian forces fighting on this part of the front in the Zaporizhia region are forcing Kyiv to deploy more artillery to counter these attacks.
Ukraine continues its offensive towards Tokmak and Melitopol, but has not been able to liberate any other towns since it announced the capture of the village of Robotyne in late August.
According to the report of the General Staff in Kyiv over the past day, Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in the Novodarivka, Verbovoy and Robotyny areas, which are in the hot zone of the Zaporizhia Front.
Despite the lack of significant developments, the General Staff explains, Ukrainian troops continue their offensive and daily inflict great human and material losses on the enemy.
