A police officer from IPJ Iași and an employee of ISU Iași were detained for alleged sexual relations with minors, DIICOT prosecutors charged them with child pornography and sexual intercourse with a minor, respectively, sexual intercourse with a minor, reports Agerpres.

According to a press release from DIICOT Iași, the police officer allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl, and explicit images of the underage victim were found on his phone.

“As a result of the conducted research, it became clear that in the period from January to September 2023, the first person allegedly had sexual relations with the minor victim, aged 13, several times. Starting from September and until October 4, the same suspect allegedly kept in his to a personal mobile phone, pornographic materials in the form of images and videos, in which the minor victim was depicted in overtly sexual poses,” say DIICOT prosecutors.

According to a statement sent to IPJ Iaşi, the police officer is also under investigation in another case for intellectual forgery and abuse of office.

“During June 2023, the police officer was transferred to the unit, a criminal case was initiated against him in another criminal proceeding, and he is being investigated for committing crimes of intellectual forgery and abuse of official position. The Iasi County Police Inspectorate firmly disassociates itself from any activity that does not comply with the law .

Regardless of the quality of the person who violates the provisions of the law, all legal measures will be taken. We support all activities related to criminal proceedings and strive to ensure that the institution operates only with honest and professional police officers, and will clean up our own system every time,” IPJ Iasi said in a press release.

The second person is a man who works in the ISU of Iasi as a professional soldier.

“Regarding the second accused, according to the materials of the criminal proceedings, it was established that in the period from February 2020 to September 2023, he repeatedly entered into sexual relations with two minors, one 13 years old, and the other 12 years old (on the street, the beginning of criminal activity in February 2020 ). Two search warrants were executed at homes in Iasi County, and several mobile phones and data storage devices were seized,” said DIICOT prosecutors.

The same source reports that on Thursday the Judge of Rights and Freedoms of the Iași Court was notified of a proposal to pre-arrest the defendants for 30 days.

Court actions were conducted jointly with the policemen of the Yassya Brigade for the fight against organized crime. (Agerpress)
