Representatives of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police announced on Saturday in a press release that during the period of September 26-28, 2023, verification and control actions were carried out regarding the legality of container transports carried out through the ports of Constanta and Constanța. “These actions were carried out after import or transit operations, both by conducting physical checks at control ramps and by scanning some containers using an autonomous mobile vehicle and container scanning system provided by the Service. of the maritime transport police,” the message reads.
The source noted that the police operated in the filters installed at the entry/exit gates to/from the ports of Constanța and Constanța South-Aggia, where legal documents required for truck drivers were checked and alcohol tests were carried out. .
So, 442 people were registered and 52 breathalyzer tests were conducted.
At the same time, 399 units of freight transport, 36 trucks, 36 containers were scanned, and physical control of 205 units was carried out.
During this period, 80 illegal sanctions were applied in the amount of 23,445 lei.
According to the results of checks and controls, five driver’s licenses, seven registration certificates and three sets of license plates were confiscated.
