Jumbo Visma parted ways with the cyclist Primoj Roglic – a Slovenian loyal to Ineos

The 33-year-old Slovenian will leave the Dutch team after eight years of working together.

With Jumbo Visma, Roglic won the Tour of Spain three times (2019, 2020, 2021), won the Tour de France three times (in 2017, 2018 and 2020) and won the Tour of Italy (2023).

In the final Grand Tour of the season (La Vuelta – Tour of Spain), Roglic finished third behind teammates Sepp Kuss (big winner) and Jonas Wingegaard (second place).

At the moment, the competition of the Dutch team is impressive, as evidenced by the final podium at the Tour of Spain.

Although there is no official version, rumors in the world of cycling say that the Slovenian would accept a significant offer (somewhere around 6 million euros) from Ineos (a team that in recent years has not had a real leader for the big goal – the Tour de France).

With Jonas Wingegaard the winner of the last two editions of Le Tour, it stands to reason that the Dane will also be the road number for Jumbo Visma at the end of the Tour de France in 2024.

In these conditions, Roglic had to seek the support of another important team to hope to realize his dream: to win the Tour de France.
