
More than 440,000 Romanians who declared their last place of residence abroad have returned to the country, according to census data seen by HotNews.
More than half of them are people aged 25-55, a fifth are children, and the rest are people 55+, according to data analyzed by HotNews. Most of them are men, most of the returnees are from cities.
According to the INS, the majority came from Italy, Spain and the UK, but we also have Romanians from Denmark, Cyprus, Syria or Israel. The list is given below:
As for the counties where the arrivals declared their residence, the majority settled in Bucharest, followed by Suceava, Cluj and Iasi.
