Last-placed Almeria sacked manager Vicente Moreno on Friday after a poor start to the season that saw the team pick up just two points.
Vicente Moreno, sacked by Almeria – The team is in last place in La Liga
The Andalusian group explains that it took this decision due to “the poor results of the team, which has only two points in the league table, where it is in last place, without winning a single match in the seven stages played”.
Moreno, 48, arrived at Almeria this summer, but Tuesday’s 5-1 defeat by Sevilla put a lid on his work on the bench.
The club has not yet announced the name of his replacement, but in the meantime, second coach Alberto Lasarte is temporarily acting as his replacement, writes Agerpres.
Moreno is the second manager to be sacked this season in La Liga, following Quique Setien, who was sacked by Villarreal at the start of September.
In the eighth stage of LaLiga, Almeria will play at home with Granada, which occupies the penultimate place.
