*NSYNC, one of the most popular musical groups of the late 1990s, on Friday released “Better Place,” its first new song in more than 20 years, Reuters reported.

“A better place”, the song, was included in the soundtrack of the cartoon Trolls Band Togetheris the first track that Justin Timberlake, JC Chase, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass have collaborated on since the boy band’s last album, Celebrity, in 2001.

Timberlake, who voices the character Brunch in the film franchise Trollspreviously shared a video of the quintet recording the song in the studio.

The singer, who soared to the top of the music charts with songs like “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” is the executive producer of the new film and a longtime co-creator of the children’s film franchise.

In an Instagram post, Bass described “Better Place” as “a love letter to all of our fans who have been our incredible support system.”

“You guys have been there for us through it all, even when our clothing choices were, shall we say, ‘unique,'” he added in a post released ahead of the song’s release.

“You guys always thought it would happen again, even when we didn’t,” he concluded.

*NSYNC last performed on stage ten years ago

Formed in 1995 in Orlando, Florida, *NSYNC has garnered a legion of devoted fans around the world with songs like “I Want You Back,” “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and “Bye Bye Bye.”

In 2002, the band members decided to take a break, which later became permanent, and Timberlake later had a successful solo career.

*NSYNC last performed together on stage when they reunited at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

The band members reunited two weeks ago at the same annual event where they presented Taylor Swift with the award for best pop video for “Anti-Hero.”
