Jessica Pegula played a perfect match in the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Tokyo, beating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina (13 WTA), 6-1, 6-0.

Jessica Pegula, in WTA Tokyo semifinals – No chance for Daria Kasatkina

Pegula, ranked fourth in the world, needed just an hour to make it to the semi-finals.

Kasatkina opened the match with the first game, but that was the Russian’s only achievement.

The American has won an excellent streak of 11 consecutive victories and is already preparing for a duel in the next round.

In the semifinals, Jessica Pegula will meet the winner of Caroline Garcia (10 WTA) and Maria Sakkari (6 WTA).

The Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis (Tokyo) takes place from September 25 to October 1 on hard, is part of the WTA 500 category and has a total prize pool of $780,637. The main favorite was Iga Svyatek, and the title champion was Lyudmila Samsonova (2022).
