According to a survey conducted by CEC Bank in partnership with banking comparator FinZoom.ro, approximately half of students will receive financial support from their families in the academic year starting this fall.

For example, approximately 43% of respondents say they will financially support their children during university, while over 30% say they will only cover half of the costs because the children benefit from the scholarship. On the other hand, according to survey responses, one in four students (over 27%) will work while studying.

Among the fields of study, the majority of students chose polytechnics and economics (about 22% in each of the two fields), followed by medicine (about 17%), law (about 10%) and foreign language faculties.

Almost half of those who graduate will live in a dormitory during their studies, around 29% in rented accommodation and just over 24% in their own home.

According to the survey, 4 out of 5 students chose to study at a public college in Romania (about 79%), while 14% chose to study at a private college in the country. Almost 8% will attend college abroad (the most targeted countries are England, Holland, Spain, etc.).

The survey on preparation for the beginning of the student academic year was conducted by online financial comparator FinZoom on the order of CEC Bank on a sample of about 1,200 respondents-individuals from all over the country, representing Internet users. As a monthly income, 50.04% of all respondents earn less than 2,500 lei, 47.53% between 2,500 and 5,000 lei and only 2% above 10,000 lei.
