Poland, which hosted the European Games in Krakow and Lesser Poland this summer, has never hosted the Olympic Games, neither summer nor winter.

“After consultations with the Polish Olympic Committee, the Minister of Sports and the government, I would like to announce that our ambition and intention is to start efforts to organize the Summer Olympic Games in 2036,” Andrzej Duda told a press conference in Zakopane. , in the south of Poland, News.ro reports.

The International Olympic Committee entrusted the organization of the 2032 Olympics to the city of Brisbane, and there are already several potential candidates who are interested in hosting the 2036 Olympics.

Mexico and Indonesia have officially expressed their interest, while an offer from India seems almost inevitable. Turkey, Hungary and cities in the Persian Gulf region may also join.

Paris will host the Summer Olympics next year, while Los Angeles will host the 2028 Olympics.
