The incident happened at the team’s hotel in Aix-les-Bains.
“It was unpredictable and we will miss him on the field,” explained Chrisander Botha, the three-quarter line coach.
Retif will not be the only one missing from the Namibian squad. Le Roux Malan underwent surgery after seriously injuring his right ankle against New Zealand, while captain Johan Deisel was suspended for five matches after being sent off against France.
