The musical artesian fountain in Tudor Arghezi Park, recently opened by the City Hall of Sector 4, costs 23.5 million lei, i.e. almost 5 million euros, According to the document posted on the institution’s website. It is about the draft resolution according to which 14.8 million lei of the 215 million lei of the loan received by the institution last year are allocated for the artesian well. The project is out for public discussion and must be submitted for approval by the local council of sector 4. The rest, up to 23.5 million, comes from the local budget.

The UDR sector 4 criticizes the costs and the fact that they want to allocate money from the loan taken for investment.

“The dancing fountain in the park at Metalurgiia cost 23.5 MILLION LEI. Almost 5 million euros for a play of color and water in an area choked by chaotic real estate development. More alarming is the fact that 14.8 million lei of the total value is borrowed from banks. Even with inflated prices in the 4th sector, we could pay the banks enough to cover at least 3 quarters. Now we will pay them for hay, most likely not working for 5 months of the year,” says the UED Sector 4 Facebook page.

Tudor Arghezi Park, arranged by the City Hall of Sector 4 on the bldg. Metalurgiei, was opened last week, on Bucharest Day. The green space occupies 4 hectares and was built from scratch, on the territory where hundreds of new blocks were built in the field, without green areas, playgrounds, sidewalks and other necessary facilities.

The park has areas for outdoor sports – a 1,670-meter running track, a cycling track and a fitness area – a musical artesian fountain, an ecological beach, a special area for pets, as well as a multi-storey car park with 150 spaces. There is a lack of playgrounds in the park, but the mayor says he will solve this problem.

Work on the development of Tudor Arghezi Park began in February 2022 and had a completion period of 18 months.

Initially, the area of ​​the park was about 27,000 square meters, but last year the City Hall of Sector 4 decided to buy another 1 hectare to expand the green areas.

In general, the investment amounts to about 40 million lei.

The tender for construction works ended in early 2022, it was won by 3 companies: OMEGA STAR SYSTEMS, Totul Verde, QUEEN EIRINI SRL
