At Indian Wells 2023, Anastasia Potapova (the 27th ranked player in the world) appeared in the T-shirt of Moscow “Spartacus” and ignited the mood on the WTA circuit. The player from Russia stands out again, this time announcing his engagement to Oleksandr Shevchenko (86th ATP ranking).

Anastasia Potapova and Oleksandr Shevchenko got engaged

The two Russians have been dating for the past six months and have now announced their engagement through a photo posted on Instagram.

During her career, Potapova reached the WTA finals five times and won two: Istanbul-2022 and Linz-2023. This year, Anastasia stopped in the third round of Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

On the other hand, a second-round appearance at Roland Garros is Shevchenko’s best Grand Slam finish since 2023. Alexander has no ATP titles.

Two more pairs of tennis players got engaged this year: Madison Keys (12 WTA) and Bjorn Fratangelo (previously 99 ATP), Miriam Bjorklund (157 WTA) and Denis Shapovalov (31 ATP), respectively.
